2006 Cloud's Raw Puerh - Collection Series No.1: The First Batch
Cloud has been collecting and appreciating Puerh teas since the early 1990s. After accumulating sufficient experience of choosing good teas, in 2006, Cloud decided to order the first milestone batch of Raw Puerh from Yunnan Changtai Tea Group in order to have some good Puerh teas for long-term aging.
[Tea Intro.]: Cloud blended the Collection Series No.1 in accordance with the taste of raw tea cakes from the 1990s appreciated by Cloud personally (i.e. the Early 1990s Xiaguan Zhongcha Brand Traditional Chinese Characters). Collection Series No.1 was blended by raw tea leaf materials from tea areas Menghai (勐海), Mengku (勐庫) and Wuliang Shan (無量山).
By an appropriate blending ratios, the raw materials were compressed into a 357g tea cake, the traditional weight of Seven-son Tea Cakes. 2006 Cloud's Raw Puerh - Collection Series No.1 has a deep and thick tea broth. The formula was designed for long-term aging. It will become very aged and mellow taste along the years of aging. This is the only first order batch by Cloud producing around 3,000 tea cakes, which is treasurly rare and having high collectiable value.
[Tea Taste]: 2006 Cloud's Raw Puerh - Collection Series No.1 has an attractive rinsing aroma, which is strong and thick with "Gan" taste. The color of tea broth is not young any more. That is a deep honey yellow with an amber tone. When sipping a cup of which, you will find the taste is solidly strong, together with a rich vivid "Gan" sensation. After that, a concentrated sweetness and "Hui Gan" (回甘) will come out gently and stay in your mouth for quite a long time. This tea is definitely being able to age and will become a signature tea.
[Conclusion and Advice]: Aging up to present, it is 18 years of aging in 2024. If we say this in terms of the human age, the tea is an adult now! Finally, she grows into an adult this year (2024). Puerh tea is somehow like a human life. When Puerh tea is aging into its second decade (i.e. getting better), this is similar to a young person getting into University (College) or starting his/her career. This is an active and energetic stage of life, being full of opportunities. Of course, if we allow the tea to age further into another decade (i.e. not to drink at this moment) reaching the 30 years of aging, the tea taste will definitely mellow and gorgeously amazing, which is surely worth waiting for.
